Hi,
I would like to know if these drivers really solved the audio issue for any of you...
Because I am stuck between old drivers with which I get good audio but bad video, and new drivers that give good video but bad audio...

I need to capture several VHS tapes, and haven't been able to do so properly... waiting for drivers that work...

I'm assuming there's no way to tell w/ some logs, but any chance this may address the problem a cpl of us have w/ the audio just failing at some point? 

They work fine for usually a fair amount of time, but eventually they either return no audio anymore, or a steady hiss (both require reboot to fix).

What is it EXACTLY supposed to do?

I still can't get the volume recording level above -6 DB.
It's is still limiting (How to turn it off??????), although the clipping seems softer..
Anybody tried it too?

Doman, I'm not sure about your problem. I couldn't get sound at all under XP x64 until using this patch. I have seen a tweak tool around these forums that you should be able to change your recording level.

The_Doman, the patch is supposed to program the registers (every one) exactly as 23070 was by default.  Only it doesn't, which points to the drivers ignoring the relevant 8775Reg entries.

Now that Hauppauge know it's being ignored, they'll probably be able to fix it.

Yeah , I have tried todo that also, even resetting everything by the wolfson PDF sheet defaults.   :o
Ofourse with no avail and wasted a whole evening with endless resetting.... :x

So I was wondering too what is the point of that register patch?
It seems they (hauppauge) just passing on information from a third party (wolfson?) without testing/trying it themself.

My guess is they dont what they are doing , from what has happaened .
Remember we found out what registers to tweak after finding wolfsen spec ?  Hauppauge did not pass knowledge to us . After that they have just inserted some code which overrides the register values. What they should have done is to re-read registery setting (if they exist) AFTER inserting their own values.

Completely agree. They have admitted they don't hear the audio problem. So the stumbling blocks are fundamental - If you can't hear the problem how can you fix it. If you try and fix it how do you know you've fixed it if you don't know what the problem was?

50 weeks I've had my card now  - I still can't use it.
