1) I never had that happing what ver is it?.
2) There number thing that cuase this but I see you find a work.
3) Eazy go to ADD/REMOVE Programs uninstall IR32.
4) That why there 3rdparty software out there why think lots don't care for some of Hauppauge software.
5) if you just edit and output the file it should automatic care of that.
6) That edited is pettey much RIP.
You if we know what system hardware spec was that dose help a lot.

1)  ULEAD DVD Movie Factory SE 2 (with all updates) and ULEAD Video Studio SE 7 (with all updates) both crash with the every file I've recorded.   I don't have this problem with mpeg2s I've recorded using another card.

3)  Thanks.

5)  Editing the DVD stream files didn't help the audio problems - it caused the audio to disappear when burned to DVD (sometimes).    I've just found that the PTS and time code errors seem to come from recording in "DVD" stream.  "Program" stream seems to have no errors.   I haven't tried burning the Program stream files yet.  I'd be interested to know the difference between Program and DVD streams, because I haven't heard of DVD stream before.  There seems to be a problem in it somewhere.

My specs:
Abit NF7-S mobo
1GB RAM
Athlon 2500+
dedicated Maxtor 200GB HD 7200rpm for recording (and 2 other HD)
Plextor PX-708A DVD+-RW burner
Hauppauge WinTV 250

Thanks for the reply.  I've seen several others with each of these problems, and most of them weren't patient and returned the board.  Now that I've gotten past all the initial problems, it seems to be really good.

Well, recognize that this is from a total newbie's perspective (a newbie here, but a certified wizard elsewhere!).  Before doing the purchase, I'd read in lots of places that the Hauppauge software was the problem.   I'd also done enough research to see that groups like this one existed and would likely be a source of knowledge / help /  better apps.   I went ahead with the pvr250 because of what I saw in the user community -- an active user community can overcome lots of mediocre manufacturer apps.

So, now after about a month, I'd say that the Hauppauge software is less useful than I thought it would be, and groups like this were more helpful than I'd anticipated.

So overall, a positive experience.....

SHS,

I voted 'PAL Happy' as I think the h/w is fine. It does what it is suppose to do well, at least for me and my PVR250.

The problem is software. While many PVR softwares show promises and some has features which I desire in watching and recording TV programs, most are sufficiently difficult to set up and get right with all the needed hardware to make the experience for most average users a simple and happy one.
