Hauppauge Tweak Tool
« on: March 14, 2005, 05:01:10 PM »
I have made a more general applicable replacement of manj's 150tweaker. Currently most know 150 tweaks are added, and some of the more essential 250/350 tricks (closed caption, volume, sharpness) ,  and a few specific wintv2k trick
It is the final aim of the tool to incorparate all useful tricks for the pvr models and wintv2k.

More info and download can be found in: http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_tweak.html

Any bugs, remarks   please let me know.

First of all, thanks for all the effort you have put into this.

The only bug (?) I saw is a listbox appears in the bottom right of the app - not shown on your screen shot that lists first entry 'memo1'. This obscures some of the setting options...

Hope this helps.

'Motion blur' is really temporal filtering isn't it? Any way to add spatial filtering too and a checkbox for static/dynamic control of these? The range for temporal and static is 0-15....

ajp,

on the subject of spatial filtering, are you refering to the 150/500 or 250/350?
I dont own a 150 or 500 (yet), so i can test anything for those cards. If you have a reg key that sets the spatial filtering (maybe something like "StaticSpatialLevel" since the motion blur/temporal key is "StaticTemporalLevel" ) i can add it.

For the 250/350 these keys are known,  but i have no idea if they still have any effect, (either in witv2k or other programs).. but that can ofcourse be tested    (adding them is no problem)

SHS,

Thanx for the list,
Can you also provide the range of possible values (and if available/useful  the corresponding effect of these values)

Thanx again SHS,

On more question,

What is the default for the spatial and temporal filters, dynamic or static (incase the isstatictemp and isstaticspatial keys are absent).

(if it is possible can someone provide me a reg file containing the default values of all the keys, directly after installation).

does the motion blur setting apply to MCE?  I've had ghosting issues and I'm guessing this is the problem.  Thanks!

Done (build 6).. its under the 150/500 advanced section.

Just try it, Ghosting can be caused by many things,  deinterlacing is normally the most common cause, but to high levels of temporal filtering can be a reason as well

Ps.. Motion Blur can now be found under the 150/500 advanced section (temporal filtering).

amontillado, awesome work
I really like the program
makes it much easier than registry digging

is a reboot required to make the changes?

I changed settings with the program, but nothing seemed to change.  Any ideas?
