Please don't ask for AC-3 or other resolutions size it dosen't support this at all with in the chip.
I'am complie list of what you like to see.

I like to see it make use of hardware decode card like the REALmagic Xcard if it possable but there one dowside to this the Xcard only works in full screen mode so there no windows mode but the Xcard should I hope be supporting monitor output with out useing the vga passthur cable rigth now it dosen't.

If you do send such a list, then please also send my request for the enable or disable function of de-interlacing of the mpeg codec (should be quite easy, is probably allready supplemented in the codec somewere).
Thanx
Detritus:
SHS, the reason I was asking for it was because it saw it on the spec sheet. Please refer to http://www.virata.com/GV%20iTVC15.pdf and you will see under "Audio encoding and decoding" that it supports 2 channel AC3 encoding. It does not support 5.1, that's correct.
At least that's the way I read that sentence.. (The part about "decode only" applies to 5.1 the way I read it)
Are you positive that that is a mistaken opinion?
Amontillado: The "Inverse Telecine" that SHS has put on the list on my behalf is deinterlacing for NTSC. It reconstructs progressive frames from the interlaced frames. I'm not sure if the chip also supports something similar for PAL, SHS?

Yes I know that it saying and can read but you need under what it saying it ref to decoding not encoding, Dolby Digital (AC-3) is standrad mono channel the other channel are inbed "transparency" in to Dolby Digital (AC-3) channel formats range from monophonic to 5.1 channels.
The cost of licensee Dolby Digital (AC-3) encoding is way to much plus add more HW for this to work in realtime that would driver up the cost of the PVR250 well above the old PVR cost have you ever wonder why HDTV PC card cost so much.
amontillado I all ready told you that this is done by intervideo directshow drv it only deinterlace on the pc monitor.
I don't think PAL need it after all Inverse Telecine (aka 3:2 Pulldown Removal) on Full Resolution NTSC Video.

I most certainly agree that the text in the section regarding audio encoding/decoding is not 100% clear, as to whether the comment about 'decoding only' applies to AC3 5.1 channel only or to AC3-encoding in general
HOWEVER:
In the iTVC15 block diagram on that very same page one can see that next to the 'Audio In' arrow there is a separate block diagram box saying 'MPEG/AC-3 Audio encode'
(and there's another box saying MPEG/AC-3 Audio Decode)
This definitely suggests that the chip supports AC3 encoding. If the chip only supported MPEG audio _encoding_ the AC3 part should not be in that one box. But then again, it could be a typo :-)
Update:
Also on this URL:
http://www.innotech.co.jp/products/globespan/mpeg/
One can read the following about the iTVC15:
"..Dolby AC3 2ch Encode,2ch /5.1ch
Decode "
