I'd suggest using either Wintvcap 3.0g or gbrecord92 command line recorders used in conjunction with WinTVCap_gui as the scheduler/interface. These are all freeware applications, with minimal resource requirements. WinTVcap_gui has options that select hibernate/standby/shutdown etc. as part of the recording process if desired. Your PC must be able to do S3 "Suspend to Ram" Standby/Sleep. S1 Standby would also work but would not save the same power and the fans, etc would still be running.
