(1/1)

LostInTheCorner:
hi there;

Is it possible to use the mpeg2 hardware encoder to reencode an mpeg2, or it is just possible to use it when capturing?

thanks in advance

SHS:
It capturing only

Thanks for your replay;

So,  when capturing from a bda(dvb-t) i receive an mpeg2 stream, if i want to reduce de size of the frames or the bitrate i supose that the only solution is to reencode the file after capturing(software encode)????? am i right??? it is not possible to do that with the hardware????

thanks again

SHS:
Yes reencode the file is done after capturing is done

It is possable but you just can not use the HVR 2250 it dosen't support Hardware Transcoding.
1st option is any Software Converter will do but this will be slow so it all depend on you hardware setup.
2nd option is Nvidia Cuda or ATI Stream = GPGPU computing but dose depend on how new your video card is and model you have and there are a few apps that can be used like CyberLink MediaEspresso.
3rd option is standalone device Leadtek WinFast PxVC1100 with/without TMPGEnc software this is a Hardware Transcoding Card.
