Hello All;
I seem to be having a problem when I try and record an old video, the aspect ratio keeps jumping back and forth from 4/3 to 16/9. The movie is in 4/3, but ETV2 keeps jumping to 16/9 and then back. I have tried to force 4/3 aspect ratio in the settings, but the recorded file still jumps back and forth from 4/3 to 16/9.
I have done this before without problems, but that was with version 1.08t.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Hi,

> Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

Probably nothing. Quiet a while ago a feature was added that tries to auto-detect
the aspect ratio of analog sources by interpreting some VBI line on the top of the
picture (wide screen signalling).

Obviously that is failing here. Does this happen only on this particular video or do
you have observed the misbehaviour in other situations as well ? Which card model
are you using ?

For the meanwhile, you can downgrade the driver to the version from 1.08t. But I
would appreciate, if we could do some more tests on that. Am I correct that you
are Keith M. from Canada ?

Hi Rudi;
Yes I am from Canada. The card I am using is a PVR 150.
It appears that it is doing this with all videos. If you need me to test something, give me a shout.
Thanks for the help.

I sent something to the email address you used a year ago. If it's not valid anymore, let me know...

Hi Rudi;
I got your e-mail and gave the ivac.sys a try. Although the aspect ratio does not jump around as much, it still happened twice on a 90 min movie. This version does not recognize wide screen format DVD's and always starts in 4/3 unless forced to 16/9.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Keith,

could you please send me the output (saved unformatted) of TRACEFMT.EXE ?
