Had to reinstall my system because for some reason the damn HVR-1800 would allow me to get any audio when trying to use the external connectors for plugging in my DirecTV box.  I just figured it might have something to do with my running Vista 64.  No matter what I did, I couldn't get any audio from those jacks.  I could from the RF connectors.  I tried uninstalling drivers, updating to the newest ones, everything, but nothing worked.

Well, I managed to get the jacks working perfectly with the set top box after reinstalling 32-bit Vista.  NOW the damn QAM channels don't have any audio!!  I don't know what the hell the deal is.  Its really getting on my nerves!!!  I had put on the 3.4d1 drivers that I had before because I knew for a fact that they would work.  So, if they used to work before, why aren't they now?

Guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers yet again to see if thats it.

Hmm, dunno what the deal was.  I tried it while WMC was recording Fringe.  When it got done I was going to do the reinstall of the drivers, but I thought to check the QAM again.  It worked just fine all the sudden.  So, while that was going I tried WMC too, and it worked.  Then I closed the two, opened WMC again, started something recording, went to GB-PVR to check QAM again, and it was working.  Anyway, its working now, so I am okay I guess.  Dunno what the prob was.
