GB-PVR is another media center program. Works a lot better than WinTV6 and MCE in some cases (other cases MCE is better, but its all mainly taste).
You don't need to restore anything back to factory defaults other than making sure you have the latest drivers for the card from Hauppauge in there. As you know, that requires you to uninstall all other Hauppauge drivers and rebooting and starting the driver install over again to ensure its done right. Other than that, nothing else is really going to mess with it to any extent to keep it from working.
Ok about the Fiji. I have everything working pretty well right now, so I don't feel comfortable starting to screw with it with something thats not really supposed to work. If it were anything else, I wouldn't mind hacking it and making it work, but since the TV is a bit screwy sometimes, I am not going to push my luck.

ClearQAM reception on computers is still quite the hobbiest activity, so sometimes you have problems that are weird. Once you get the crap working, you are best off leaving it as is.

I did my Hauppauge dealings by email as well. Like any big company, its going to take a few days for them to get to you. Just have to be patient or send them an email once a day until they get sick of you bugging them.

I would more likely think that its another defective card from HP as they more than likely got a bunch of the early releases of the boards from Hauppauge that were messed up. I forget where I saw it, but it was mentioned at one time how early releases of the 1800 had defective QAM sections, but were fine later on.
