GBrecord and multiple PVR-150 cards
(1/1)
RayFromHolland:
Hi there, I'm Ray,
Can i use the composite-channels of two PVR-150 cards at once with GBrecord92 ? And if yes, which parameters do i need to change/adjust to run an instance of GBrecord92 for each seperate card ?
I want to use GBrecord92 with WinTVCap_gui by recording the composite-channels both at once from each PVR-150, dont even know if thats possible at all so any answer to this will be greatly appreciated :-)
Thx in advance, Ray

Thx for ignoring me...

I don't think you're being ignored as such, it's just that to help, someone else has to be using the application in the same manner that you are wishing to use it. Assuming that you mean GBRecord (predecessor to GB-PVR) and not BGRecord (background recording part of WinTV2000) then the GB-PVR forums would be the place to look for help. The problem there is that the GBRecord application was abandoned in favor of the full EPG driven application and support is minimal. It's like running an HVR1600 under Windows2000, it can be done but you're on your own getting it to work and then poorly.
GB-PVR can be run as a background application with or without using an EPG. In manual mode you can specify which tuner to use at any given time (just name your capture devices so you can differentiate between them).
In cases like this, you generally need to approach the issue like, "How do I accomplish my goal" rather than "How do I make this application do precisely this". My choice was to run GB-PVR in manual mode on one PC (local PC on KVM) but continue using WinTvCap on the LAN connected PC (but it has a supported PVR250). I admit I prefer something based on Window's Scheduler because it allows scheduling on a distant, LAN connected PC, without logging in, VNC, KVM switch, or other remote management system.
All that aside, since GBRecord was intended to look like WinTvCap, you could try the WinTvCap parameters and see if they work.
--- Quote ---Capture Card = -board:<Card Nummber>
Used in a Multiple Capture card system.
You can explicitly select the Capture card you want to use by setting this to a number from 1 to the number of cards in system.
Any active Recording on that card will be stopped and the new recording will start.
You can have WinTVCap use any free capture card in the system by setting this to 0.
If no card is available it will exit without recording.
Default behavior is to use the first card in the system which is the same as setting this to 1.
Any active recording will be stopped and the new recording will start.

Hi zaphod, thanks for your reply, it helps me a lot. I meant Gbrecord92 indeed and not the application from WinTv2000. But as you state i might be better off trying to get GB-PVR to work for this goal.
Again many thanks for your reply :)
Best regards, Ray
