Vista MCE, HVR-1600 ATSC tuning disappearing act
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:33:33 PM »
Anyone else having a problem where the HVR-1600 shows a black screen with no sound, but MCE thinks everything is working after a reboot? Funny thing is when I reboot after the "black screen" session, the next session the tuner is fine, everything works as it should. Also analog recording/tuning has never been a problem. I reinstalled the drivers for my video card, HVR-1600 and I even did a system format/reinstall didn't help.

So the order from power off is:

1st boot up -> no ATSC picture/sound -> reboot -> ATSC works -> reboot -> doesn't work again -> reboot -> works -> reboot -> doesn't work (seeing a pattern?)

System config:
Asus A8R-MVP (using onboard sound)
Asus EAX1650PRO
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (939)
Generic 2GB DDR400
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS
Hauppauge HVR-1600
Vista Ultimate
550W P/S

I'm using the drivers from CD 3.3C and ATI drivers 7.2 (dated Feb 21).

I take it that this problem is only in Vista MCE what about WinTV2000?
If doing the samething in WinTV2000 try change the overlay mode.
