sharing HDTV recorded shows over a network

All,

I am trying to 'share' my recorded shows over my network.  I use BTV for my main HTPC.  I looked at BTV link, but my machine in my rec room is an older 'homegrown' machine that I pieced together over the years... thus I don't have permission (nor do I really want) to spend the $$$ to buy MS Windows.

So, I installed Suse 10.2 and freevo.  I have it configured and such to look on my BTV HTPC connected to my HDTV in the living room.  Now, this machine is BTV 4.6, with a Hauppauge HVR-1600 (dual tuner: one HDTV ATSC and one S-Video/Stereo Audio off my satellite) capture card.

All the recordings from the S-Video are fine.  But the HDTV ATSC shows (ending with a .ts) are not.  I recorded the MLS game off of ABC last thursday, and when I play back the show on the freevo box via mplayer, I hear the audio, I just see a weather picture.  However, if I fire up BTV and play the recorded show... I see the real deal.

So, here is my question.....  Has anybody a similar setup, and if so, what program can play a .ts (a transport stream) file on linux?   I have tried mplayer, xine, and xmovie with no success.

John

I don't have the exact setup, but I have found VLC to work well with the .ts files.
you may have to select the correct program if there are multiple streams in the file.
