All the above formats work well in playback or live preview mode.
Test 24 hour non stop recording and not one time did it ever crash. But if need REAL Proof see ScreenShot 39 see how long it been on Total Uptime yes that update after update going first beta to final build ver.
Bugs:
So far I haven't had any problem capturing or setting up
scheduled recordings, Playing MP3, DVD, Viewing Picture or even
just watching TV.
It seem to be very solid application.
Wish List:
  • Xcard OSD & MCI DVD support (Would be nice to have).
  • 250MCE/350 Radio FM MP3 recording/scheduler support.
  • Web Remote scheduleding
  • Weather Plug-in
  • Better Visualization more like 3D Visualization (G-Force, Geiss 2, Smoke, MilkDrop)
  • CD/MP3 ripper/encoding
  • Video Folder/List View Sub-Folders Customization
  • Picture in Picture
  • Closed Captions
  • Custom MPEG Add/Remove Modifying Quality Properties Panel.
  • Watched Icon and Record Icon with in the Guide.

Conclusion:

SageTV new GUI is much better looking with lot of other impove.
What's really cool is that it works with the new & old Hauppauge
PVR remote control and new remote like Firefly and I sure there
are a lot other 3rdparty remote that also work.
What I really like is that I can record in different MPEG qualities for each scheduled recording yes even MPEG1 but Note: NO MPEG1 Timeshifting.
I just love the fact that I'm able to scroll through 2 weeks of TV guide listings once the database is downloaded. I like the search
capabilities too and the favorites manager and there much more. Do you just HATE scheduling conflict becuases you wanted record another show at the time or need overlay 1min-/+ on the schedule recording for editing, with the support of Multiple Tuners on one PC or Multiple PC as in Network Encoding with use of SageRecorder you can do away with this problem now that Cool. Just so you know there even EPG Data Plugin's like XMLTV plugin if you live outside of Canada or the U.S.
One thing I like about it is I can change channels on my
Satellite box which makes it much easier to schedule recording
different shows on different channels thank to the Actisys IR-200L but you can also get new USB-UIRT Infrared which has more useful option for Multiple Tuners setup.
Best of all I can make use of REALmagic Xcard for REALtime Hardware decoding which brings down my system resource usage a lot also you can use any of the other falling card like NetStream 2000, NetStream 2000TV, NetStream 4000 plases take note DVD playback not possable with REALmagic card most lee due to lack of full DirectShow DVD Navigator support which is a major drag.
You can use just about any Software MPEG2 Decoder and can make use of some video cards that support some MPEG Hardware acceleration like DX9 VMR, iDCT, MC, etc, etc depend on your video card you have.
Oh, and did I tell you it has DScaler Deinterlacer support and along with a lot of other options too boot. SageTV can now play other Audio/Video format like AVI, MP3, DivX, etc, etc for playback and this cool to Music Visualizations not hard 3D ver like what found in WinAMP and min other but it do. Also you can add Channel logo which really add better over all fell and look to it os If want TV Logo's you get them rigth here. What eles is cool is if you have MP3 with embedded Album Art it will display the picture of that Album cover with use of Musicmatch JUKEBOX Plus, Mp3 Tag Tools, Gotcha Covered, The Godfather and there all so build in Playlist functionality as well min other useful option. There also a Picture Player which also has one cool option like 3DFade, you can also set Slide Duration Time and are other option to play with depend on how wish to set it up.
Just so you know SageTV also dbl as Server ocen it enadble. SageTV Client new GUI is much better looking with lot of impove. Best of all some of you love this SageTV Client it just like SageTV but dose not support a TV card. Streaming LiveTV, Per-Recording Video, Music and Picture and there more to any PC on the your loacl network. Also you can add Channel logo which really add better over all fell and look to it.
SageTV Recorder works well. It does everything you want it to do
and then sum but it needs a bit more of a flashy look to it.
SageTV Recorder saw some impove but not the UI mostly to be more
Compatible with newer Hardware MPEG2 Encoder and better Network
Encoding support with newer SageTV Server.
It even works with the Xcard for REALtime Preview and it has built
in scheduling and it works with Infrared (IR) Receiver/Transmitter
for changing channels.
It can record different MPEG qualities for each scheduled recording
yes even MPEG1(Note: NO MPEG1 Timeshifting).
Best of all you can use any soft mpeg decoder and can make use of
some video cards that support some mpeg hardware acceleration like
DX9 VMR, iDCT, MC, etc, etc.
Oh, and did I tell you it has DScaler Deinterlacer support and
there are lots of other option too.
Now the Cool part is you can use as Network Encoding sleve to
SageTV, What eles is new in SageTV Recorder Channel Setup/Naming Table,
AutoTune Support for RF sources, Eazy Acc and Schedule button and
there more you can record to files in MB size or you can do MB segment
recording file size to.

Con's:

Far I know there only few Drawbacks with lets say Audio JukeBox was
no optoin for playing all songs in the album without a playlist and
select playback queue video/music file list.
SageTV's limitation of showing all imported video in a single list.
If you have many videos recordings, that single list is too long.

Final Words:

Overall I'm very impressed with it right now and its overall
performance, so I giving it a 9.5/10.
