| Conclusion: Over all, the MPEG image quality is out standing with both recording, pause & playing back MPEG2 depend on the MPEG quality level setting I use. I'm a bit dispointed with fact they didn't add Record for Radio being there an option in the MPEG Advanced Control Propesties I'm also still dispointed that radio application as not been update with wintv2000 skin which look out place with rest of hauppauge software. The hardware decoding output was very soild on the TVset but it would have been nice if hauppauge had add VIP port to this card and make better use of HW decoder but that also mean you end up using a older video becase min of newer video card don't come with 26 pin VIP port witch allow for VGA overlay direct to the video card free up cpuage and pci bandwith. I just love the new pvr remote control which very useful unlike the old remote which had all most no control in fact I didn't even use it like this new remote. WinTV2000 need be more useful like faster acc to the MPEG quality level setting, Video Out On/Off button and PlayLocal On/Off button but what user really want is a SDK so they can write there own application. One thing I wish hauppauge would come up with a way to change channel on Cable/Satellite box like send infrared for example to control the Cable/Satellite box channel change make much eazy for schedule recording diffrent show on diffrent channel. Hauppauge had done WDM (Windows Driver Model) drivers and are the new standrad for new OS like Win2000/XP but please keep in mind that it dose not output YUV which min 3rdparty applications like Dscaler, PowerVCR, WinDVR, VirtualDub, ect, ect use so it will not work with this card becuase the WinTV-PVR 250/350 only output MPEG1/2 in RealTime. |
