Requirements:
Hauppauge said
Processor Requirements (minimum): Dual core CPU Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater) Note: the playback of high definition H.264 requires
a fast CPU and at least 256MB of graphics memory Sound card.
I think that a bit off I think the key thing here is the
Video card the newer the better.
My Hardware:
My setup is Home Build
Intel Pentium 4 478 2.8GHz processor (Hyper Threading)
Intel D865Peal
1GB 400MHz PC3200
Sapphire HD 3850 512MB GDDR3 AGP
2 Seagate 250GB IDE
Corsair TX650W "CMPSU-650TX"
Capture from Dishnetwork

720x480p 16/9 w/AC3 Demo clip 49mb
1280x720p 16/9 w/AC3 Demo clip 46mb

Bugs:
There are some small problem
TotalMedia Extreme flake out in perview with 720x480 but
the recoding come out just fine.
Passthough only work with the device on.
If your recoding 1080i you most like see color line and buttom
of the video and kind of look bad.
Wish List:
Conclusion:
Over all the qualiy of playback was very good and it seem be
very solid runing with the new fix board.
It very eazy to hook up it come with a nice long 6' component
cable.
So far I haven't had any problem just playing the listed above
resolution with a good claen source input from Dishnetwork VIP211
on SageTV STX-HD100 or with playback with Sapphire HD 3850.
Note: Current v1.0.3.53 drivers supports optical Bitstream (5.1)
and it now work with the Dishnetwork VIP211.
Keep in mind that some cable set top boxs do not allow you to
customise the component output to diff aspect ratio like
Dishnetwork boxs do.
Arcsoft TotalMedia Extreme software is pretty much ok it has a
set of useful tools which you can do like Record Video,
Create AVCHD DVD-Video disc, Watch AVCHD/DVD/VCD and there also
MediaConverter.
Would like point out that the Create AVCHD DVD-Video disc only
works on Blu-Ray drive you can not trasoncode it in to Reg
DVD format.
The MediaConverter is Lite ver which can do
Apple "AppleTV/iPhone/iPod, Mircosoft "360/Zune",
Philips "PMC7230", SanDisk "Sansa e200",
Sony "PS3/PSP" formats output only.
Notes:
There is lot 3rdparty support SageTV, BeyondTV, GB-PVR and even
Linux
Final Words:
Overall I love it Recording qualiy and its overall performance,
so I giving it a 9.3/10.
