Instructions for Streaming Live Video:
The WinTV-PVR board can be used to stream live video over the internet
with the appropriate 3rd party streaming software.
Installing Microsoft's Media tools, will also install the Windows media
encoder software. To stream live video over a network or the internet,
open the Windows Media Encoder program. This will stream live video,
in real time, using the MPEG-4 compression format.
Go to start-Programs-Windows Media, and open Windows Media Encoder.
Choose "Quickstart" from the Welcome window, for the easiest/quickest setup.
Note: Windows Media Tools 4.1 which is no longer on Microsoft web site, so
you need do a little a searching for wmtools.exe 3.89MB (4,084,904 bytes)
via FTP search.
1: Choose Quickstart Template

2: Depending on the type of modem/internet connection speed
that is being used. (250 Video works fine in my house here with a LAN)

3: As you can see it started up now on to the fun part.

4: Click the properties settings button
(the properties icon) click
on Input tab.
Change the Audio Capture to match the right Sound card.
Change the Video Capture to match the right Video Capture card.
You can use the Output tab to save ASF files to disk if want.

5: Click the Encode | Video capture settings button
(or video camera
icon)
to change the video source to Composite or S-Video or Tuner.

6: Click on Start
(the start icon)
If all goes well this
should change to this ![]()
but if it fail with in 5sec you didn't do it right try again
7: Click on Preview
(the preview icon)
to preview the video image that you are streaming
8: Be sure you save setting so you don’t have reset it up all.
The connection information will indicate the stream reference:
msbd://xxxx:7007 or http://xxxx:80
These are the addresses that are used to allow others to connect to
the live video stream on a local lan, Outside the local lan you need
to know your IP Address for the dial-up, cable modem, DLS so down
the line if went your buddy's to connect to your video stream.
How you ask just use the Windows Media Player 7 click on
File | Open URL type "http://xxxx:80" enter.
