Windows Media Encoder 7.1

 

Instructions for Streaming Live Video:

The WinTV-PVR board can be used to stream live video over the internet

with the appropriate 3rd party streaming software.

Download and installing the Microsoft's Windows Media Encoder 7.1

To stream live video over a network or the internet, open the Windows Media Encoder.

This will stream live video, in real time, using the MPEG-4 compression format.

Go to start-Programs-Windows Media, and open Windows Media Encoder.

Choose "Broadcast" from the Welcome window, for the easiest/quickest

setup.

 

1: Choose broadcast, capture, or convert a file using the new

Session Wizard Template

 

2: Choose broadcast alive event from attached devices or computer screen

 

3: Choose MSVIDEO: Brooktree Bt848 Capture Driver.

The "Hauppauge PVR Capture (PCI)" doesn’t work then could make use of

the Vision Tech Kfir MPEG2 video and audio encoder other then that you just

get and error massage at end of setting up the Windows Media Encoder 7.1.

Note: Be sure configure the video input before clicking next.

 

4: Choose your sound card not the RSS Wave in Record or anything else.

Note: You may need configure audio input.

 

5: Broadcast Connection information will indicate the stream reference:

http://(You computer IP address):8080 or http://(Your computer name):8080

These are the addresses that are used to allow others to connect to

the live video stream on a local lan, Outside the local lan you need

to know your IP Address for the dial-up, cable modem, DLS so on down

the line if went your buddy's to connect to your video stream.

How you ask just use the Windows Media Player 7 click on

File | Open URL type http://(You computer IP address):8080 or

http://(Your computer name):8080 enter.

 

6: Choose Profile Selection

This will depend on your connected speed.

At this time you can click finish and go start your broadcast.

 

7: If you want you can save your live broadcast to a file for rebroadcast at time.

 

8: This option is up to you

 

9: This option is up to you

 

10: Click on Finish

 

11: Click on Start
